Save Sutton from the Axe!
Residents will be aware that the Boundary Commission have proposed a re-organisation that will destroy Royal Sutton Coldfield as we know it.
· Their plan is to take the New Hall Ward in Sutton, and transfer it to the Erdington Constituency. In return, they plan to transfer the whole of the Kingstanding Ward, out of the Erdington Constituency, and into Sutton.
The New Hall Ward includes: Wylde Green, Walmley, Minworth, Peddimore, Thimble End, the Reddicap area, and a major part of Sutton green belt. All 17,582 Sutton residents living in the New Hall Ward will be transferred into Erdington, and all 17,227 residents living in the Kingstanding Ward will transfer into Sutton.
What Can We Do?
Apart from when we were taken into Birmingham in 1974 this is one of the most critical periods in Sutton Coldfield history, but we still have ambition for our town.
With Andrew Mitchell, we are currently working on the restoration of our rightful Royal Town status. This happened, and must be restored.
Your forum is also joining others to seek more independence for our Birmingham Constituencies, with the return of our town status in Sutton. [Localism].
If you value at all the place where you live, please take time out to properly object to the Boundary Commission. We must not allow the break-up of our town or it will destroy our future, and set back our aims.
