Local Issues:
Halton Road Lighting:
Halton Road is having the new electronic lighting installed. Some while back. We were given a presentation on this, and its aim is to concentrate light down where it is needed, and reduce light pollution where it is not. It can also be controlled in intensity from a central point. They could be turned down in the early hours reducing our carbon footprint. The appearance of this lamp and post is black, fairly flat, and square. The quality of lighting is excellent Darnick Road:
We are continually reminded of the truly awful surface condition of Darnick Road which is quite a busy thoroughfare. This has been raised with councillors and we seem to be waiting for Amey.
This should have been given priority. Email your councillor.
Monmouth Drive/Somerville Road Crossing:
We are getting comment on the difficulty of crossing in the above area and also simply crossing Monmouth Drive at its top end to head to the Boldmere or Wyndley Gate, either walking or with a push chair. We need comment and responses on this please. We shall pursue this anyway. Please ring us and your councillor.
Trees in your Roads:
Many people are puzzled with the Amey activities. As contractors on almost everything, they do seem at times to be just seeking work.
Trees are being cut down with quite minor defects. Has anyone known trees in their road fall down in dangerous numbers over the years? Amey are finding dozens and our roads are strewn with stumps. Do please let us know of events in your road, we are currently trying to review their activities, but we are having difficulty. This remains an agenda item. What is your view?
